Non fiction: from ‘Making a Murderer’ to ‘Muerte en León’

Conversation between Justin Webster and Enric Bach, creators of the Spanish non fiction series  ‘Muerte en León’, and writer Carles Porta, forefather of the genre in Spain with ‘Tor’. Moderated by Jordi Évole. Saturday the 22nd of April at 18:15 at the CCCB Hall.

Muerte en León’ was one of the biggest surprises in 2016. This non fiction in four episodes investigates the case of the murder, in 2014, of Isabel Carrasco, President of the Diputación de León (PP). Its narrative way of dealing with a real case has reclaimed the validity of a format that has already proven its potential for success in international hits such as ‘Making a Murderer‘ (2015), ‘The Staircase‘ (2004) or ‘The Jinx‘ (2015).

To discuss the way of dealing with reality in the media, and the ways to build a narration to explain an existing case, Justin Webster and Enric Bach, director and co-writer of ‘Muerte en León’, and Carles Porta, journalist and writer of the best-seller ‘Tor, la muntanya maleïda’, will join for a conversation at Serielizados Fest. The talk will be moderated by journalist Jordi Évole, director of the television reports program Salvados.

At the end of the talk, there will be a screening of the first episode of ‘Muerte en León’.
