Masterclass with the screenwriters of ‘Gomorra’

How to adapt a journalistic work for television. Thursday the 20th of April at 11:00 at the Auditorium of the Blanquerna Faculty of Communication and International Relations.

Leonardo Fasoli and Maddalena Ravagli are two figures of great relevance in television and film writing in Italy. Both have a long trajectory in stories related to the criminal world, but lately this tendency has evolved into an approach to journalistic grounds, getting their narrations closer to the current reality of their country.

Taking journalist Roberto Saviano’s investigations about the Camorra and drug traffic as a starting point, the series ‘Gomorra’ and ‘ZeroZeroZero’ (in production) drink from his discoveries about the internal functioning of these environments to generate fictional contents that have an impact in the audience’s perception of reality and current events.

This 4th edition’s masterclass, that will be held at the Auditorium of the Blanquerna Faculty of Communication and International Relations, will be about the process of adapting journalistic material into fiction, and will be moderated by Diego Sotelo, head of the TV adaptation of the book ‘Fariña’, Nacho Carretero’s treaty on drug trafficking in Galicia.
