Pre-release of the documentary ‘Imprescindibles’ (RTVE): homage to Chicho Ibáñez Serrador

Screening of the documentary about the creator of ‘Historias para no dormir’, with an introduction by professor Concepción Cascajosa. Friday the 21st of April at 21:00 at the CCCB Auditorium.

With series such as ‘Historias para no dormir’ and game shows such as ‘Un, dos, tres…’, Narciso Ibáñez Serrador shook the Spanish television of the 60s, appealing to the minds and senses of the audience, and becoming, as time passed, a historical reference to creators specialised in horror, fantasy and humor, among which we can count Álex de la Iglesia, Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza.

Ibáñez Serrador’s career evolved in both cinema and television: he directed two movies, the horror classics ‘La residencia’ (1969) and ‘¿Quién puede matar a un niño?’ (1976), and he was responsible for two of the most important programs of our television, the aforementioned ‘Historias para no dormir’ and ‘Un, dos, tres…’. Before receiving an honorary Feroz award in 2017, he was distinguished with awards such as the Premio Ondas (2003) and the Premio Nacional de Televisión (2010).

The documentary ‘Imprescindibles: Chicho Ibáñez Serrador’, produced by RTVE, is a homage to the career and figure of a national television idol like no other. The screening will be preceded by an introduction by University Carlos III of Madrid professor Concepción Cascajosa Virino, one of the biggest television experts in Spain and author of the book ‘La cultura de las series’ (editorial Laertes).
